Kate McNee is a Londoner who moved to New Orleans over three decades ago.

Costuming has always been part of her New Orleans life. She started making headdresses many years ago when tiny top hats were all the rage and not being mass-produced like they are now. Since she loved the making process, she decided it was time to go bigger and now makes her headdresses year-round but Carnival season is her busiest time. 

She loves color and mixing things up. Weight is a major concern when making her headdresses. That being said, her headdresses can be, and have been, worn all day as the revelers dance in the streets on Mardi Gras day. What she loves best is seeing them worn. It makes her so happy to see people so happy in her headdresses.
