Inspiration: 
"Mr. Rogers, the children's TV star, loved the number 143 because it reflected the numbers in the words 'I love you'. He kept his weight at 143 and considered it his lucky number. And so here's to you Mr. Rogers, a homage to your number in several numeric systems; Arabic, Devanagari, Roman, Mandarin Chinese, a couple of ancient systems. The numbers are in white and hazily layered on a black/gray background. There are subtle tiny red dots and accents in the painting."

Artist Bio

Elizabeth Larose is a contemporary artist born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and practicing in New Orleans. She creates abstract and abstract landscape paintings primarily with acrylics and gouache on canvas. Elizabeth is a traveler and hiker and has lived in India, Colombia, Turkey and several major cities in the U.S. The forests, lakes, oceans and vistas from mountain tops she has encountered serve as her muses. The Erato of her existence is New Orleans. That and a rich inner life are her inspiration.
Artistic Process

My technique, developed over years of painting, involves light, subtle yet deep layers of color.
