Inspiration: 
"This painting was made in homage to birds who make their way through miles and do what their ancestors have done for centuries. I was hiking a lot at the time I painted this and looking at trail maps quite a lot. These tiny animals make their way through instinct to their safest spots on the planet."

Artist Bio

Elizabeth Larose is a contemporary artist born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and practicing in New Orleans. She creates abstract and abstract landscape paintings primarily with acrylics and gouache on canvas. Elizabeth is a traveler and hiker and has lived in India, Colombia, Turkey and several major cities in the U.S. The forests, lakes, oceans and vistas from mountain tops she has encountered serve as her muses. The Erato of her existence is New Orleans. That and a rich inner life are her inspiration.
Artistic Process

My technique, developed over years of painting, involves light, subtle yet deep layers of color.
