Inspiration: 
"I'm inspired by life around me in New Orleans—the exuberant growth of everything. The rich soil and humid air ensure that even cement is not safe from plants. Cane fields and water surround the city. Necklaces are hanging from trees even months after Mardi Gras. And there is the light, rich and strong. Nature revels in it, rises like a phoenix even as we humans rage against it. She and Light will rise."

Artist Bio

Elizabeth Larose is a contemporary artist born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and practicing in New Orleans. She creates abstract and abstract landscape paintings primarily with acrylics and gouache on canvas. Elizabeth is a traveler and hiker and has lived in India, Colombia, Turkey and several major cities in the U.S. The forests, lakes, oceans and vistas from mountain tops she has encountered serve as her muses. The Erato of her existence is New Orleans. That and a rich inner life are her inspiration.
Artistic Process

My technique, developed over years of painting, involves light, subtle yet deep layers of color.
