Inspiration: 
"I did a lot of hiking in California, and this painting is a memory of a scene I would have seen there. Hiking was a solace from an otherwise too busy life at that time, and now even remembering those hikes is a solace. I would like the viewer to feel that calm and awe that I felt, being in and of nature."

Artist Bio

Elizabeth Larose is a contemporary artist born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and practicing in New Orleans. She creates abstract and abstract landscape paintings primarily with acrylics and gouache on canvas. Elizabeth is a traveler and hiker and has lived in India, Colombia, Turkey and several major cities in the U.S. The forests, lakes, oceans and vistas from mountain tops she has encountered serve as her muses. The Erato of her existence is New Orleans. That and a rich inner life are her inspiration.

My technique, developed over years of painting, involves light, subtle yet deep layers of color.
