Artist Bio

Jazmine Reynolds grew up in Jasper, Alabama where her passion for art began in high school. Although she pursued a corporate career for years, the opening of a clay studio nearby reignited her creative spirit, leading her to take lessons that deepened her love for ceramics. Over the past two years, Jazmine has focused on working with porcelain clay, creating stunning wall hangings, including life-size magnolia pieces that showcase her ability to push the medium to its limits. Her work has garnered attention, with pieces sold to various restaurants in the area. Before her journey in ceramics, she explored the world of makeup for film and television, with a childhood dream of specializing in makeup effects. Jazmine continues to embrace her artistic interests as she carves out her unique path in the art world.

Artistic Process

“My Artistic Journey with Clay"
From late-night Pinterest sessions to rain-soaked patio creating, my relationship with porcelain has evolved into a deep, meditative practice. Specializing in oversized porcelain flowers and New Orleans-inspired food sculptures, I create pieces that range from dinner-plate-sized blooms to life-sized local cuisine - including a detailed shrimp po-boy complete with fries!

My Process:
Each petal of my signature flowers is individually pressed, dried, and carefully molded by hand. I often work outdoors where the New Orleans weather becomes part of my creative process - raindrops, naturally hydrating clay, tools being cleaned against garden sticks, and yes, occasionally dodging mosquitos! This connection to nature enhances the organic feel of each piece.

My Approach:
While I respect traditional ceramics rules, I'm not afraid to experiment. I mix different glazes, combining high-fire with Mayco Stroke & Coat to achieve unique effects. In my world, "glaze fixes everything!" I believe in sustainability - broken pieces become new art, and every bit of clay is reclaimed for future creations.

Family & Inspiration:
My 7-year-old son often joins my creative journey, suggesting new ideas and sharing my enthusiasm through pottery gaming. Together, we explore different cultural patterns and techniques, making ceramics a family adventure.
